Adventure #9 Finding a Way out and yet not getting out!

DM NOTE:
The adventure on Jan. 12 2006, was dedicated to Tony Johnson and his manner of play, and DMing.  Under that umbrella, the DM announced that "tonight in honor of Tony passing away 3 years ago, I will DM much like Tony would have, and will kill the entire party!"
 
The adventure began when the party finds that they have defeated the destrachan and the Vampire.
The party rested, and Cindarr took the first shift.  He was supposed to wake Cashmir after 4 hours, but failed to.  Cashmir awoke and Cindarr was gone.  The party headed off to look for Cindarr.  They wandered down the corridor and heard screams from a side corridor.  They came up apon 5 drow and 3 humans a dwarf and a Chull engaged in combat.  The drow killed or disabled the humans and then turned on the party.  The party attacked a single individual drow male fighter.  That one fighter nearly killed the entire party single handedly.  The party then started to fall over like flies.  After Janciss was killed, and Havana dropped to near death trying to put on a bag of holding Boot, Spitfire fell over.  This left only Cashmir living.  He fled on foot carrying Spitfire.  The drow apparently chased them, but not for long.  When Cashmir returned, he found Janciss dead, and Cindarr alive describing, how he advanced on screams he heard in the night, saw the menacing drow, and hid until it was too late to help the party in the fight.  He came back when the fight was over and saved Havana from death.  They freed the other  humans and used a Rod of Resurrection on Janciss.  They were unable to save their friend the dwarf.  The party helped to bury the dead, and tried to chase down the Bad-Ass drow that defeated them, but which left most of them alive with complete disdain and the lack of will to even finish off the party. 
The party found a Ghost at the end of the caverns. This ghost was attacked, and defended herself, draining strength from the offenders.  The party was told that there was a way out, and she showed them the way.  But told them, they must return the coins of the realm, known to her as the 5 dragons, before she would open the gateway.  The coins were stolen by the drow Anabethulio and her gang of 5.  They took the coins and vanished back to where they came.  The party have taken quest to return the coins to the Ghost.
The adventure ended when the party came to the top of the chamber that leads to the Drow kingdom and the 5 drow who have the coins of the realm.  "The last thing the party said/thought why are we chasing down some killer drow who barely broke a sweat kicking out assess?"
