Setting
The campaign is set in a low level of
magic world. A world once teaming with powerful magical artifacts, wild beasts,
dragons, hordes of lizardmen and the invading armies of the alien Dreadnaughts. The
age of the Dreadnaughts are gone. Their armies obliterated.
Magic, the arcane magic of old erodes,
the villages have reverted back to times of peace and tranquility. The heroes
of old, now only legends and the great stories told of the Deadnots, Airymagnus and Duke Kaneada are mere myths of a lost
age. The great kingdoms of Shifobi and Georgia long lost to the seas. This is the Astoria of now.
Time
The last 100 years has been
known as the Age of Quiet. This time has seen the corruption of the arcane
classes, and the great empires of old fall into lapse. People no longer believe
that there is good magic from sources outside of their own god(s). The Sovereign
Host are seen as the only source of good magic that does not carry with it a curse.
People have also grabbed a hold of their
familiar clanship and have shunned those not from their community. Outsiders are not trusted (much like any other time) but during these hard times, something happens to shake
the peace to its core. But that is the story of the campaign and more will be
revealed later.
Start of Campaign
The adventure begins in the village
of Kaiyville (pronounced K-eye-ville). It is located in the north eastern section
of the Morreldeen Reaches next to Merlsward sometimes called HighCliffs. Both
of these towns are near the Morreldeen Bay. The village has less than 600 total
residents.
Each character will be a member of the
Kaiyville militia, and have been serving in such militia for 7 months when the adventure begins. All characters are members of a specific Clan. The clan membership
for the player will be assigned, but you must chose your own race, and class that you would like to be. You’ve all been driven to learn to fight in the militia, and thus all of you know and understand
simple weapons and armor. All have been exposed to basic understanding of the
militia throwing spear, 2 handed melee spear called The Lance (Reach 1 sq between).
Each character begins with 30 silver pieces and basic clan items that
are family owned and explained once clan association is established.
