The adventure begins with the party dead tired, traveling for 3 and half days rushing to return Dalen and his broken
body to the village in hopes that the Druids and the mayor could revive him. It Works. Dalen lives and is
recovering nicely. He is still weak from his endeavor, and has a lame leg now. He can walk, but he moves slower
than normal As a dwarf, he never liked horses, and his fear of them has only worsened since his experience. As
the party rests, and attempts to regain their strength, a gathering of the Wood Wardens begins.
You find out that
the Wood Wardens (all 4 of them Chad, Chister, Johan and their leader Baron Roy) have gathered at the center of Kaiyville
to make their battle plans and to prepare provisions. They come to defend the
forests of Morreldeen and to take back the Anvil of the Sovereign Host. They
believe if they depart quickly, they can make the temple in 3 days, surprise the Thoon, and defeat the tog army.
The Wood Wardens
plan to take the captain of the guard Karl Micha and 5 others including Rico Suave, and Dwayne Dwoonberry. They all leave, and time is now available for the party to prepare armor and weapons. There is also time for longer needs. Dalen is revived after
a day in the care of the Mayor. He returns to work at his shop, without his favorite
anvil.
Prior to leaving for the battle Chad tells
Aleanon
You and your friends must
remain here. You are good soldiers, and one day maybe you can be a Wood Warden
like myself, and we can fight side by side. But now the road is dangerous, you
have just scouted this out for us, and we all appreciate that. Rest now my friends,
when we return, we can adventure to the lands of the goblin and seek our revenge on them for what they did to our people. Now your task must be here in town. Heal
your wounds, repair you armor, sharpen your weapons and protect the mayor and the council.
We have the militia here on duty, but clearly you have developed in these last few weeks into a well oiled fighting
force. Stay within the walls and remain on alert for any scouts of the tog or
returning goblins.
Karl Micha come to the militia and the
party and tells them the following
I’m taking my 5
best men with me to this battle, they are hardened fighting men of the lance. I’m
sure others of you could do just as well, but we must keep a force in town to protect our homes. You will remain here. I’m leaving Janar
Gloin the dwarf Lt. in charge of the town while were away. You
must listen to him. Aleanon has been given the field rank of Sgt. while Alura
has been given the field rank of corporal. These 2 will be voice for your squad
these next few days. Hail Morreldeen, and all hail the Duke. Keep the fires burning, and have a boar on the spit on our return.
The party worked on getting armor fitted, weapons sharpened, trading up weapons and armor and resting. No word
came for a fortnight regarding the departure of the woodwardens. The runner Bobby arrived and told of the killing of
the wood wardens and Karl Micha. The village elders panicked. Dalen told party of the lever (scepter) and how to find
a goblin merchant in the city of Alabaster.
The party traveled to Alabaster City and fought a wandering Troll on the way. The party fought nothing else the
entire night. There was much exploring of the city, including the Inn called the VidLoki Inn at 235. They also
went to merchant shops. Alura, help Lorelei interpret a dream that helped locate the outcast gnome named Gramous.
He led the party to Balim and scepter.
Aleanan sent a message from the family of Quartz Rineldon before they got to town to the Lady Marla Nazoree. She
came to meet Aleanan in the dark and helpd him and the party to meet with Balim.
Since Alabaster was Aleanan's hometown before Kaiyville he made his best effort to use his local knowledge and resource
to complete the nights advenure. He had a memorable youth there, and many remember his infamous exploits, which in the
end helped leverage his days in the White Keep and get the party an audience with Balim, Dalen's brother and lord over many
Goblins. He talked a long time with the party, and even provided them access to his treasure horde. He willingly
decided to help the party in any way he could so that the Tog would be stopped. He would not give the party his scepter
however.
He offered to teleport the party to the Temple, when they were ready. The party felt they wanted Barak there with
them, when they finally decided to assualt the temple.
